The show is sold out. Is there a waiting list?

There was overwhelming demand for tickets and all performances are now sold out. If you’d like to be notified of any potential ticket returns, please register your interest here. We will contact you if any tickets become available.

The show is described as ‘immersive’. What does this mean?

In contrast to a conventional theatre show, the immersive nature of The Dead means that the audience will move with and around the actors through a number of historic rooms in 85 St. Stephen’s Green. You will witness the actors up close as they bring the characters of James Joyces’s masterpiece to life before your very eyes.

Is there an age guidance for the show?

The performance is recommended for ages 12+

What does small audience groups mean?

The capacity for each show is limited to 75 to allow audiences to experience The Dead in a uniquely intimate way.

What is the running time for the show?

The running time is approximately 80 minutes with no interval.

How accessible is the performance? Will there be seats?

While MoLI’s exhibitions are wheelchair accessible, the route for The Dead is not. 85 St Stephen’s Green was chosen as a location for The Dead because of the historical and cultural relevance of the building. The promenade performance involves navigating three staircases, with breaks in between. For each of the main playing areas, there are points of rest. Here, limited seating will be available which will enable some people to sit during each section of the performance. Should there be a future production of the show, we are actively exploring a solution which will enable us to offer wheelchair accessible performances in 2025.

Are there ISL (Irish Sign Language) interpreted performances?

Yes, there are two ISL performances on 11th December.

Will there be programmes available to purchase?

Yes, there will be programmes available to purchase before the show at the reception at MoLI. Price €6 each.

Will food be served during the performance?

While the performance takes place at a Christmas party, The Dead is not a dining experience for the audience.

Will there be a cloakroom?

You can leave your belongings at the front desk at MoLI before the show starts. As you'll be moving around during the performance, we recommend avoiding bringing large items with you. Belongings are left at your own risk.

Can I come to the show by myself?

Absolutely! This experience is perfect for solo attendees. You'll be part of a group from the moment you arrive, making it easy to enjoy the show with or without a companion.

Is there a dress code for The Dead?

There's no dress code for the show. Feel free to dress for a party and embrace the festive atmosphere if you'd like, but it's not mandatory. Comfortable attire is perfectly fine.

What is your latecomer policy?

Due to the immersive and intimate nature of this production, latecomers will not be admitted. Please plan your journey in advance and allow extra time to arrive on time, especially considering the busy time of year in the city centre.

What time do doors open prior to the performance?

The audience enters MoLI prior to the start of the performance. For daytime shows, MoLI is open Mon-Sun from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For evening shows, doors will open 30 minutes prior to start time.

Are there any refreshments at the venue?
